End of the year

We can't believe how fast this year flew by.
There are so many things to share and be thankful for, that's why we made this short video, to let you know how much we appreciate all of you who are always praying, going with us to different places and mobilizing us with your financial support to encourage others.

Jonatan will be sharing soon more details about his last trip to the Amazon region.
I was privileged to spend some time with Natasha's parents and being able to see their baptism in the Amazon river. We are happy for this step of obedience to God. My parents were there also there so this was definitely a special occasion to have both sets of parents together.

One of the leaders in a key village in the Amazon got married. It was a blessing to see them moving along in their faith and desiring to do things the right way and continue growing to help others.

We were able to visit some pastors to give some encouragement and plan a pastoral training for next summer. Our friend, Rene Gonzales, is part of a ministry in Virginia. He took the challenge of the Amazon and will be supporting us with this ministry in the future. We are excited to have partners like him and his ministry.

Also, we want to update you all about our field team for ABWE. After several months of meetings and evaluation, it was determined that we will be working closely with the Brazilian team in the Amazon region. We are excited to be part of this team and we will also continue staying connected to the team in Colombia as needed. This doesn't change anything in the plans that we had for the ministry or the region where we will be working, it is just a more effective way to continue with the work in this environment.

November Latest News - Ultimas Noticias Noviembre

Hi
We made this short video to share with all of you about our latest news.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and your support.

At last IFR. So many people to thank for.
First to God, who allows all things to happen in his time and provides all the ways for it.
Secondly, my wonderful wife Natasha Brown. There is no way I could have accomplished this without her help, taking care of so many responsibilities so I could take the time to focus to study and get this done. Thank you all the instructors who helped me get all the necessary requirements and their willingness and time to support me in this big step. All my aviator friends who were always and are still encouraging and helping in any area to become a better pilot.
And all those who faithfully support us through prayer and financially. We are all part of the same kingdom. To you all Thank you. One step closer to Mission Aviation Amazon

Staying with God's will.

Warm greetings from Florida to our friends and family.

So much has happened in our lives since we gave our last report. We want to send a video recapping what happened and also to our friends that don't have facebook to get a report as well.

"We were planning to go and live in a missionary home this past Friday. We had a contract made months prior and thought that everything was going to work out. When we got there, everything changed, and we felt it just wasn’t the place God had for us. So, after hours of driving with all our belongings packed in our cars, we turned around and drove another 2 hours back to Dunnellon not knowing what God had in store...
God is sooooo good, after a few days, Jonatan’s friend told us of a rental house he had that just came available. We moved in this past week. It is so beautiful and beyond enough room for the girls to play and me to cook ðŸ™‚ we feel so blessed and deeply thankful."

God took care of us more than we could have ever even thought. I, Natasha, am deeply thankful that we could stay closer to Jonatan while he is studying and we can be more "in family" daily. We would have been over 2 hours away from him and he would have had to drive weekly to Dunnellon and only see us girls on weekends. God is so good!

Isabella has a fascination with bugs. She is getting ready for the Amazon!

We went to a local, Christian owned, pumpkin patch and had some fun...

We feel greatly blessed being able to get to 66% of our financial support. Please keep us in your prayers as we get to 100%.
We are looking for individual ministry partners as well as churches to visit to share the vision of the ministry. If you are interested and able to connect us, please let us know.

October 2018

Friends and family,
We wanted to share a quick update of gratitude for our deputation we took over the past couple of months. Since we have gotten back to Florida, we found a place to stay while in limbo on waiting for our temporary missionary housing to come through. We praise God for some stability at this time to finish up things that have been pending.

Please pray for us.
We have an apartment for 3 months in Largo Fl with a missionary housing organization. Jonatan will be traveling weekly to Dunnellon, FL (about 2 hours away) to concentrate and finish up his flight training. This is very important to finish before we leave for the field, as well as take his exams. He also has to take the 4 required classes through ABWE, each will take about a month to finish.
Natasha is busy taking care of the girls, a full-time job like many of you mothers know. She is also finishing taking the 4 required classes through ABWE. If God provides births, she is working on her doula training too.
In the meantime, we are looking and scheduling churches to go and visit to share the ministry. We are excited for the open doors.

To all of our faithful supporters, we cannot thank you enough for being our backbone through this time. Honestly, without you, we could not have made it through all these months of traveling. We feel so blessed to have you in our lives. We love each and every one of you.

August Recap, Prefield Journey Continues

Friends and Family,

As our prefield journey continues, we cannot believe how fast this past month, August, flew by. It’s a week into September and we almost forgot to blog!
God has been opening up doors and we have felt his presence all along the way. This past month we traveled to Virginia and now are in West Virginia sharing as we go. We spoke at two new churches and shared at three of our supporting churches, you can see in the attached pictures.

Many ask, so, what’s next?
*We are taking 4 required online classes with ABWE.
*Jonatan is working on finishing up his aviation training.
*Natasha is working on finishing up her Doula International certification.
*Please pray for us, we would love to be at 100% funded by the end of March. We have a required class to take at 85% funded in April that we would like to take and then leave for Colombia after that. Only God knows, and we fully trust His leading.

*We are looking for churches to visit in Florida. If you know a contact we would love for you to connect us! We will be concentrating there till the end of our fundraising term.

Second Deputation Trip Started...

Greetings from the Nieto family,

When we arrive "home" from the Amazon a month ago we knew our lives were going to change. We had just a week to pack and leave the ITEC housing we had, relocate our stuff, and also get ready for a trip to Pennsylvania. Since we had reached the 50% of our budget we needed to take the required class. We decided to take advantage of that time and started asking people for contacts to visit some churches.

Praise God we finished our class and had a beautiful time there. God showed us many new things and we were greatly refreshed and learned new things. It re-encouraged us to stay focused on finishing this pre-field journey. Our hearts want to get to the field but we know we need to take this time to visit and make contacts and a support circle. Not to focus on financial support but a support of people that will lift us up in prayer and stay connected with us, which is crucial in times of discouragement.

We were thankful for a contact that come open in Boston, a friend from Lynchburg let us share in his church. We actually didn't know at the beginning of the contact that the church was in Portuguese, we just accepted the invitation. But, to our surprise we ended up sharing in two different Brazilian churches that day. We were so encouraged by these churches as they opened their doors for us to share, they made us feel so comfortable and even organized a lunch after service to raise funds for our support. They are focused on reaching the lost in this part of the world, Brazil. How awesome. We felt that God was and is doing a work in all of this, like he always does :) As a family we want to learn more the language, Jonatan knows quite a bit, but we want to learn to speak it well. We have been doing ministry in Brazil and learning the language is very important to us as we continue making more connections in the Amazon region. Actually the only private, Christian school in the Amazon area where we will be living is a school in Portuguese, so our girls will most likely be going there. As parents we will want to be able to communicate with the teachers and other parents.

As we travel we don't just concentrate on visiting churches but most importantly making new friends and contacts. We love meeting the new people that God puts in our lives.

And as always, we thank you for being part of our lives, you will never know how special you all are to us.

Back to Florida.

Hello friends and family,

We are back home from our trip to the Amazon, praise God. It was a time of busyness and fruitfulness we are thankful for that but it was also filled with sickness. Every week someone was sick with something different.

God answered our prayer requests in different ways. We had no idea where we were going to stay in Leticia and a few days before we got there a friend replied with a contact. We got to make a beautiful friendship with a pastor and his family who have lived in the Amazon for years but we had never known them.
As for Natasha and a birth experience, she was not able to physically help someone because we were constantly moving around, every week we were somewhere different. But she met numerous pregnant ladies and got to ask lots of questions and make some good contacts.
God answered a big request we had, we made it to 50% of our budget! It came in the weekend before the deadline. So, we are planning to leave next week for our class we need to take with ABWE and will be gone again for some time visiting churches and friends along the way. God has been so good.

We are going to leave you with the past two posts we made on Facebook. Some of you all may not have facebook so we wanted to share with you as well.

Arrival in Colombia

Family and friends,

It is hard to think that we arrived to Colombia just two weeks ago! We have already been in numerous houses sharing and spending time with long time friends and family. We had the blessing of meeting other ABWE colleagues here in Colombia and it was a beautiful time sharing with them.
This weekend we are going to take some family time and go to a local area, we are excited for much needed family time.

Many people wonder why are want to be missionaries, the life in the United States is so comfortable and we can find a job easily. Many people ask why we just don’t get a job instead of asking for ministry partners... God has tested us and with thinking about it we get deeper roots in our faith knowing we are doing what God has called us to do. Being a missionary is not easy, but so fulfilling! Trusting in God’s will for your life is always the best!
It is not easy traveling with two girls, an infant and toddler, from car to car numerous times a day, sleeping in different beds every other night, eating whatever people offer or put in front of you... but we know God is taking care of us.
We covet you’re prayers, especially for healthy bodies. Isabella got sick with an extremely high fever,  Natasha has been sick. But God is good, the day after they got sick we were arrived to a cousin’s house who is a doctor, she sent in the medicine and they brought it to our house, it was a huge blessing!

We shared in a Colombian church this past weekend. The pastor put us on the spot to share a special song... before we started Isabella wanted to come to the front and it was such a sweet experience, her helping us sing. Natasha also got to have her first experience sharing in Spanish with the congregation some of her calling, it was a wonderful time.

Natasha hasn’t had a birth experience but has talked with two pregnant ladies, each having their own questions. It is definitely a need for women to have a place to come for counseling with maternity questions. Natasha has a deeper passion for studying midwifery.

We love you all and are thankful for you reading and caring of what I see happening I need our life.

Prayer requests:
*We still don’t know where we will stay while we are in Leticia. Please pray God shows us where.
*For health and safety.
*Natasha to have a birth experience in the Amazon.
*For us to get to 50% funding by the end of June. We are at 43%.
You may think that giving a small amount wouldn’t make a difference, it will! We have some ministry partners that give $15, $25, $30 a month, your committed monthly partnership means so much to our family and especially to the people we are ministering to. Please ask God how he wants you to partner with us.

Video Series-Doula/Birth Work

Hello Family and Friends,

This is the last video in our series of videos. Natasha is excited to shart her heart about what God is calling her to do. We are excited about how God is leading her and what is to come.
Please pray for Natasha that God would make a way for her to study and get more experience. She would love to have a birth experience while we are in Colombia this summer, Amazon-style! Pray that she can find some pregnant mamas.

We have reached 42%. We are thankful for everyone who God called to become part of our support team. We have to get to 50% before the end of June to be able to go to the class that we take at 50% with ABWE, continue sharing with us in prayer that God would touch hearts. If you have any interest in sharing in the ministry with us, please let us know. We would love to tell you more.

We leave tomorrow, May 8, to fly out to Colombia for 2 months. We are going to be visiting family and friends and then continue to the Amazon to minister there. There are two teams coming that we are going to be working with and a pastoral training for indigenous leaders. We want to be a light and inspiration to the people by sharing God's love and His hope.

Please pray for us as we continue sharing the vision and raising support. We are planning our summer deputation schedule. We want to find more churches to visit and if you are willing to help us connect to some we would greatly appreciate it.

We love each and every one of you. Let's stay in touch!

April, Video series: ITEC

Exactly three years ago we arrived at ITEC to be part of their team as volunteers, serving and receiving training in aviation to move to the Amazon jungle.
We feel extremely blessed and happy to be here, it has been a great experience and we see a better and more clear vision for the ministry in the Amazon.
Itec is an amazing organization with very creative and beautiful people. We are all a big family and we would have never changed that decision to come here.  Enjoy the video.
Thanks again for watching, praying and supporting us.

We thank all those who are responding and becoming part of our support team. We jumped from 34% last month to 38% this month! You all are such a blessing and we cannot express our gratitude enough, thanks again.

Prayer Request:
Our usual summer trip to the Amazon: Specifically for health, finding a place to stay in the city and villages, opportunities for Natasha to find pregnant ladies to share and learn from- get some births, language learning
**If you are interested in supporting us specifically for our trip this summer, please let us know.**
For God to open up doors for us to speak in more churches- Colombia and the United States
Jonatan to finish his Instrument Rating Pilots license

March Update, Fundraising - Levantamiento de fondos, Marzo

Hello family and friends, We cannot wait until the first day of spring next week! We had a little of a cold snap here in Florida and want more warm weather!
This month we wanted to focus on sharing something we want to be very transparent about, the finances.
We are currently at 34% of the total we need to raise. Our biggest desire is to be at 50% by June so we can take a seminar which is one of the requirements to move full time to the field.
We are also trying to work on our assignments that ABWE has for us to complete before we can attend that seminar in July. We ask you all to pray for us as we continue to raise support, for God to open doors of churches, for people's hearts and minds as we share so they understand the ministry, and for us to communicate properly.

We want to thank every one of our supporters who has given so far, you all are our backbone and we cannot express how grateful we are to you, we love you so much. We have contacted some churches and people and hope to find more open doors, we also have a schedule in the making for this summer to visit some states again. If you know of someone wanting a one-on-one meeting, or you would be interested in inviting us to your church or talk to your pastor, please contact us.
God has been speaking so much on life and how to not do anything on our own strength. We don’t want to push things and only get our desires for our lives. We know God is paving a way for us to get to Colombia, in the meantime we want to be intentional about doing our part.

February 2018. Video Series ABWE

Hello friends and family, The weather is nice and cool here in Florida and we are loving it!
This year Jonatan and I spent Valentine’s Day apart but we are going to spend some days as a family this next week sharing our love.

We thank God for the love we share with our family and also His unwavering love towards us. This past month Jonatan was able to focus on studying for his pilot instrument rating. A big prayer request answered, he found an instructor that is helping him finish up his training to get this rating and we hope he can finish soon. Natasha also had some huge answers to prayer. You may have seen a post on Facebook and we will share it on here as well:
“Today I’m so overwhelmed by how much God loves me. It has been over 2 years since I have had this passion inside of me to do something with birth training and helping pregnant mothers. I had no idea how it was going to happen with a newborn at the time (Isabella) and my husband focusing on his training. So, I just prayed... I want to implement my knowledge in the Amazon with hopes of having a crisis pregnancy center, if it’s Gods will... TODAY I have my first doula clinical and birth assistant training...So many emotions!!!!”

Natasha will have her first birth as a doula at any time and we ask you to help us pray. If you don’t know what a doula is, it is a certified personnel that specifically helps the mother during birth. There are birth doulas and postpartum doulas but Natasha wants to focus right now on being a birth doula. She also had the opportunity to become a birth assistant at the birth center where she gave birth to Gabriella. This is an on-call position and isn’t a full-time job, which is perfect now with having a toddler and newborn. We will see what all God has in store for her future! We leave you with this month's video. We love you all, take care!

January, a good start to the year - Enero, un buen comienzo de año

We hope everyone is having a great start to the new year.

We started it off with a bang! The first weekend of January we attended a missions conference in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Jonatan had the pleasure of leading a session and sharing about our ministry. We made good contacts and also spoke at the local church.

The second weekend of January we had our annual Proyecto Global meeting for the non-profit we are part of. It was a great time sharing with friends and learning from our mentors. We had an all-day meeting Friday and Saturday we had a dinner fundraiser at our church with a great turnout. We are so thankful for how God is moving and providing for the continuation of the ministry in the Amazon.

We are also thankful for Jonatan’s parents staying with us during the first two months of Gabriella’s birth. They got to enjoy many of Gabriella’s firsts and cherish unforgettable memories as well. They leave this week and our lives will slowly get back to normal.

We are starting to make plans to visit more churches and continue our prefield journey with ABWE. This month we are not going to show a video in our series. Look forward to that next month... please keep us in your prayers as we organize the next couple months, prepare for the trip to the Amazon during May and June, share in churches and with friends and also for God to work in our lives. Being called to be a missionary is not easy and Satan is pulling us in many directions to distract us. We covet your prayers.
